Oral Cancer
Oral Cancer
Oral cancer is a type of cancer that develops in the mouth or throat. It commonly affects the lips, tongue, cheeks, gums, and roof or floor of the mouth. If not treated early, it can spread to other areas.

Who Gets It?
- People who use tobacco in any form, including smoking or chewing.
- Those who drink excessive alcohol or have a history of both.
- Individuals with prolonged sun exposure leading to lip cancer.
- People with HPV infection or a weakened immune system.
- Adults over 40, though younger individuals can also develop it.

What to Look For?
- A sore in the mouth or lips that doesn’t heal or bleeds.
- A red or white patch inside the mouth or on the tongue.
- A lump, thickening, or rough spot on the gums or cheeks.
- Difficulty chewing, swallowing, speaking, or moving the jaw.
- Numbness, pain, or persistent hoarseness in the throat.

Moderate-Stage Oral Cancer
The tumor grows, causing pain, swelling, or difficulty eating. It may ulcerate, bleed, or spread to nearby lymph nodes.

Advanced-Stage Oral Cancer
The cancer invades deeper tissues, bones, or distant organs. It may cause severe pain, facial disfigurement, or metastasis.
