Melanoma
Melanoma Carcinoma
Melanoma is the most dangerous type of skin cancer. It originates in melanocytes, the cells that produce melanin, which gives skin its color. Melanoma can spread rapidly to other organs if not detected early.

Who Gets It?
- People with fair skin, freckles, and a tendency to burn easily.
- Those with excessive sun exposure or frequent tanning bed use.
- Individuals with many moles or a family history of melanoma.
- People with a weakened immune system or genetic mutations.
- Adults of any age, though risk increases with aging.

What to Look For?
- A new or changing mole with uneven borders or colors.
- A dark lesion with shades of brown, black, red, or white.
- A mole that grows, bleeds, or becomes itchy or painful.
- A lesion with asymmetry, irregular edges, or a large size.
- A mole that appears in sun-exposed or hidden skin areas.

Moderate-Stage Melanoma
The lesion thickens, expands, and invades deeper skin layers. It may show irregular borders, color changes, or bleeding.

Advanced-Stage Melanoma
The cancer spreads to lymph nodes, organs, or bones. It may cause severe illness, skin lumps, or internal damage.
